The radial wipe has changed in premiere pro

Hello,

I'm trying to create an animated timer and every tutorial says to use radial wipe. I have noticed that it is wiping from the lower right instead of going clockwise.

Is there a work around in premiere or a transition that is similar.

Thank you!

Also, the "Clock Wipe" may be more what you are looking for.

Who's bright idea was to remove radial wipe with the rest of the absolete effects?

Stop trying to edit and EDIT!

That's a pain to lose, no question.

As to why ... it's an old bit of code, with relatvely few users using it. Ergo not high enough on the priority list to get re-created in new code. For you, it's the radial wipe that bites, for me, it's a couple of the video noise creation effects I used quite often. But not enough other users used them. That's why they were 'obsolete' and have been since about 2018, so we all had warning they were going away at some point.

And ... there is an actually better one in Ae for some of these, I just wish they'd move them to Pr. Ah well.

You can also go to the older version, and actually copy the effect to the new version. There's a few posts on here about how to do that.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

You can control where the wipe start using the 4 little arrows up above the setting when using the Effects Control Panel, with the wipe selected. Use the slightly bigger play button and you can select each option and see it on that tiny display.

Are you using the one in the Obsolete folder?
