The sample rate is not compatible with the current audio device.

The problem is the Airpods themselves - or more specifically, the wireless Bluetooth codec(s) the Airpods use. The Airpods support only the AAC wireless codec, which in Apple devices is restricted to 16-bit/44.1 kHz. Unfortunately, most videos' audio sampling rates tend to be in multiples of 48 kHz, which may trigger that incompatible sample rate warning. (Recent MacBook models do support aptX in hardware, but currently available versions of MacOS do not support that codec at all.)

Windows, on the other hand, does not support AAC at all for the wireless Bluetooth codec - only SBC or aptX. SBC is technically able to handle audio sampling rates up to 16-bit/48 kHz (and once again, higher sampling rates will get resampled to 48 kHz by the codec). Unfortunately, Airpods only support SBC with a really crappy sampling rate of only 8 kHz (and anything above that automatically gets resampled to 8 kHz in the Airpods' hardware when using SBC). That's good enough for telephone calls, but woefully inadequate for music.

Until Apple fixes the sampling rate compatibility issue with wireless headphones (it is very surprising that iOS supports the automatic sampling rate conversion while macOS might not), you will have to use wired headphones with your MacBook Pro when you are using a video editing program. Grab yourself Apple's USB-C to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter and a pair of wired headphones. The quality of the Apple USB-C to headphone jack adapter isn't the best, however, but should still support audio up to 24-bit/48 kHz (higher sampling rates will be resampled to 48 kHz in the adapter).

I'm trying to use my Airpods to editing on Adobe Premiere 2022 (v.22.1.1). I used it on windows, normally, but now I switched to MacBook Pro and isn't working. The message tha appears is ''The sampling rate is not compatible with the current audio device.'' How I can fix this?
