The toolbar at the top of the page gives a "not responding" error when used.

The error "not responding" occurs when I use the toolbar at the top of the page. When I interact with the toolbar (the one that contains options like help, windows, edit, file, etc.), I encounter a "not responding" error, and the program closes.
This error has occurred in every version I have installed.
Please help.
