Thumbnail generation causes crashes

2021 Macbook Pro.  Bin of about 100 clips, each about 15 seconds long..  Thumbnails have to 'regenerate' every time i leave the bin and come back.  It's extremely slow, and a lot of times Premiere just can't handle it and crashes due to memory error.  Why is Premiere using 90+GB of system memory to repeatedly generate thumbnails?  It should be about 10 megabytes TOTAL for these tiny little thumbnails to save in the project folder.

Sorry for the problem. We have added GPU support for thumbnails in the latest beta builds, and we believe thumbnails generation should be quicker and more efficient now. 

Please check out the latest beta build version from the creative cloud and let us know how it goes there.
