TikTok Thumbnail on Timeline

I know to add a still photo into the timeline.

How can frame the photo to not show up when I upload the video to TikTok yet still be able to select it as the cover photo? <top>

I provided the link to a creator that does this but I cannot figure it out myself.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I was actually doing this originally.  Tiktok wouldnt register the still frames as a thumbnail unless it was atleast 7-8 frames.  This was working for me for a while as I would place it at the beginning of my videos.  Now It's not working.  It even lets me choose my thumbnail (still photo thumbnail created from photoshop) but once the video is posted it doesnt show the thumbnail instead it shows anotehr part of the video about 50 frames after the thumbnail to be exact.  Not sure why all the sudden it wont show the chosen thumbnail.

You can't. If you watch this creator's content on TikTok you'll see that he cleverly hides his thumbnails in plain sight. Go through and watch several of his videos and watch carefully.
