Timeline mouse wheel scroll jumping

When scrolling on the program monitor I have jumping issues. I want to scrub through my clips frame by frame to blur out faces using keyframes, but if I scroll too quickly I may jump up to a couple seconds ahead or behind instead of just going through each frame more quickly.

I have my scrolling set on windows to one line at a time, I can not and do not want to scroll horizontally on my mouse, please just add mouse wheel scroll options in preferences or keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks for filing the bug report. The behavior of scrolling directly in the monitor has been changed. I hope that the feature you want can be achieved by scrolling the mouse in the Time Ruler of the Program Monitor. I hope that works for you. That's laughable TR.

First it still scrolls, just like before, you just got to aim a little lower. Under the monitor portion to the monitor timeline. You can zoom in on that timeline by scrolling in that area.

Second, AE, PS and AI all zoom on a scroll of the monitor, making PP like the others. So your theories do not add up.

True, it does scroll if you are low enough, and now that I have been working with .5 for a couple of weeks, I am almost used to the new location. However, Adobe was never able to fix the jumping scroll when scrolling on the program monitor, and it was sketchy for a couple of years. It makes a good excuse to change things in the guise of 'consistency' if you can't fix them. And if you want to talk about consistency, let's talk about tabbing within individual effects and the effects tab. You can tab between settings in the effects tab; very few of the individual effects work to tab between settings. Particularly dynamics, which I use all the time! I'm also curious how this thread sat dead for 9 months, and it wasn't till I poked fun at Adobe that someone from Adobe answered...

So I picked up a work louder creator micro which has a bound-able scroll wheel and set that to page left and page right which scrub one frame at a time. Not the proper fix I wanted, but it's nice having the device for other hotkeys as well as having my fingers free on my mouse to do whatever it is I need to without moving back and fourth. /thread I guess.

This is an old issue that has plagued PR for at least two years. I'm sure Adobe knew about this and was unable to fix it, so they just changed it from scrolling the timeline to zooming in and out *in 24.5. (IMHO)

You can use your keyboard. The cluster of arrows moves the mask, but you can use the numeric keyboard arrows to move the timeline so your hand is available on the mouse - which is what I take it you want.
