Timeline view

New Premiere user, but 20 years experience as an editor:

1. I struggle with the split window view in the timeline panel and was wondering whether there is a way to turn it off (whenever needed) and simply have all the tracks displaying in one single window. So basically ability to toggle the split on or off depending on what I am doing.

2. Alternatively ability to see only video tracks below the playback monitoring screen (whatever it is officially called) or see only audio tracks. I know I can expend track view but then I lose the monitor and can't see what I am doing (watch the video to see my edit changes as I do them).

3. Also, I don't understand why Adobe doesn't make it possible for users to simply click a track and drag it to a new position. This would be SOOOOO helpful.

4.  Also can the "destroy a clip when another clip overlap it" be turned off? This is a horrible feature that has caused me nothing but headaches. My work around solution is to use two tracks and stagger the clips alternating their position between upper and lower track. This avoids accidental overlaps but results in more tracks (hence the split window system becomes annoying). How about instead having premier create a cross faade if we overlap the clips. (perhaps the ability to select either of the above two behaviors as a settings option - overwrite if you need that OR create cross fades)
