Question

Timeline zooms in all the way after zooming with mouse scroll.

So I've had this problem for a couple of months and it has become a huge obstacle in my workflow. Whenever I zoom in/out with the mouse scroll, Premiere Pro decides to zoom in all the way in a split-second. After which it zooms in all the way again if I scroll/zoom out too fast. Only when I do my scrolling movements in slow-motion the timeline won't zoom in again, which is very annoying to do.

I've tried numeral work-arounds like changnig the mouse settings to move 1 line per scroll by default. Which made all the other mouse-wheel scrolling tasks insanely slow.

Or having keybinds do the zooming for me. This works but now the timeline zooms in/out wherever the playhead is. Whereas with the mouse wheel I can zoom in wherever I want without having to worry about the playheads position.

Resetting the preferences also didn't do much.

Working in a previous version of Premiere isn't an option for me since I work with a lot of plugins and such.

I also tried two other mouses, which didn't seem to solve the bug

The mouse I work with is a Dell MS116 Wired Optical Mouse, I believe.

The weird thing is, this bug just appeared out of nowhere and hasn't been solved since.

Can anyone help me here?

I'm having the same problem. I think it is from the latest version. I'm on  23.6.5 (build 2)

Try updating to 24.4.1, @ThatPhotographerGirl - see if it helps.

Thanks,

This is it, after buying 3 new mouses, and spending hours in preferences, settings and what not, I have decided to completely transfer to Davinci Resolve. It's a shame because Premiere Pro is such an amazing application, but this one small problem really ruins my workflow/editing speed/patience with the app. (Every single time I slightly touch the mouse scroll wheel it completely zooms in till it can't no more.)  Adobe, fix your stuff!!

I've had the same problem in Adobe After Effects, now it's popping up in resolve. In both programs, it always seems to involve the zoom function for the image-I've never noticed it anywhere else.

Did you get any further?

been almost a year working with Resolve and let me tell you, it's amazing! I've only had 1 crash ever. I do miss certain things Premiere Pro had like customizable workspaces and large track sizes.

But no, I haven't experienced any problems with scrolling. It works as it should.

I am dealing with the same exasct issue.

I came across another thread with OP describing same issue and he was able to fix through his mouse software settings. I'm using a razer viper mouse and my software doesnt allow any custom changes to mouse scroll speed.

Can anyone form Adobe provide any fix to this issue?

Try a different mouse.

Did that! Matter of fact I've tried 3 mouses and none of them worked.
