I have moved from Premiere Creative Cloud back to Premiere Pro CS6 to find I need to transcode AVCHD in order to continue editing my videos.

What transcoder is recommended for me to use?

I have transcoding AVCHD to m4v using HandBrake with partial success since
my AVCHD video results in 10 frames m4v. It appears there must be a
setting in HandBrake that controls numbers of frames.
If so, is there an easy way to count numbers of frames?

I have a feeling it's your original input file that is not Ok ... what is the size of it?
Did you try to play it using any video player?
