transcript in Premiere Pro 2025

I'm having a problem. When I select the transcript in Premiere Pro 2025, a French transcript appears even though the film is in Portuguese. And I can't find a way to select the language of the transcript. Any idea how to fix this problem?

If you use automatic transcription, it uses the language set in your preferences. This happens if you use automatic transcription of all clips or if you add a clip to a sequence, and it gives you the option to click transcribe.

To correct this for clips already transcribed, right-click on one of the media clips in the Project Panel, and pick "Re-transcribe." That will give you the option to set the language. If there is a "cloud" icon by Portuguese, it means it will download the language pack. These files are large, and this will take some time.

One it starts transcribing, open the Progress panel (Window -> Progress), and expand the "Speech to Text Transcriptions." It will show the progress of the Language Pack download separately.

If that works correctly, you can select multiple clips in the Project Panel, right-click, and re-transcribe several at once.
