Transcript not following timeline playhead in 23.5 (mac os 13.4.1)

I have many static transcripts in my production that all worked fine in previous versions of Premiere. But now that I've updated to 23.5, the script in the transcript tab no longer jumps to where the timeline playhead is. And when I do a word search in the transcript, it also doesn't jump from line to line - I have to scroll to find whatever the search discovered. Anyone else experienced this? Is there a new setting that needs checking off that I missed?
