Transcription Glitching

Having quite a few glitches and bugs ith transcription and captioning. When editing the transcript in the transcript panel if I correct a word it completely got wrong after clicking out of the active box the word just disappears until I do it a couple more times the exact same way and it somehow wants to stay now. Other times the text window will just completely crash and have to restart the program for it to work again but it will crash again at the same point. So I then have to skip that part in transcript and correct the mistakes it made in the caption. Last bug I experience, During captioning even if nothing is entered in the search bar it will just randomly jump to random captions in the timeline. I don't want anyone asking what system version etc I'm on because I experience these issues on my Office PC with a RTX 3080 and my home PC with a AMD 6700XT. I get these issues on both systems and have been for the better part of the year.

video of 2 glitches in 1. My RTX 3080 is updated to the latest studio driver, adobe is updated and windows is updated. Not sure whats going on

Thank you for the additional information - the second issue where the panel goes blank is already fixed in the current beta version. The first issue of the wrong language being picked is under investigation - what you could do is double click the affected click on the timeline to open it in the source monitor - then in the text panel clikck on the "..." overflow menu in the top right and choose "retranscribe" - then select the correct language to fix the transcription of the broken section.

The glitch I have is when I edit an word on a transcribed multi-camera clip sometimes the panel will just go to this:

I then have to close and re-open the text panel for the transcription to re-appear.

Thank you for your feedback - there have been a lot of improvements over the last few releases to deal with all kinds of edge cases, which could affect the way the text panel displays the caption and transcription data.

It would help us a lot if you could verify if this still happens on the just released 24.0 (or if you have it already installed - the 24.1 beta version).
If you still experience any such issues it would help us to have an as detailed as possible instruction list what you did before running into the problem (e.g. what media used, how does your timeline look, are you using team projects or productions, did you use relinking, is your project especially long or complex?). If we can recreate the same problem on our side, the chances of getting a fix into the next days beta build are quite high.

I've just updated to 24.0 so will see if these glitches still occur. I work as a video editor for social media so all my timelines are mostly similar to eachother with length, number of assets, process etc. I use a production then split into individual projects for a video 30s-1min. I use quite high quality prores footage which I notice always slows down premiere a bit. Will update in a couple days if these issues persist.

Haven't experienced the reload panel again yet but still have the language and general glitches I mentioned. My language is set to English

Hi Oliver,

can you try to disable the "auto language detection" check box in the transcription settings, to rule out this is wrongly detecting your clips to be in a different language (guessing because a lot of your clips might be very short so more likely to cause false positives).

Best regards,

 Alexander

Hi Oliver30781575m2lh!

Sorry about the issue. Which version of Premiere Pro are you using? Could you share a screen recording of the problem? Also, can you try updating Premiere Pro and see if that brings any change?

Let us know. Happy to help.

Thanks,

KR
