Transcription problems different language

For 2 hours I have been trying to transcribe my video in French, but it doesn't work!

I work with the newest version of Adobe Premiere Pro. I tried auto-transcription of my French-spoken video, but every time it gets transcribed in English (forming vary strange sentences).

I remember in the past there was an option to choose language settings for transcription (and to download language packs), but I cannot find this anymore. I've watched several YouTube-tutorials and asked ChatGPT, but I can not find a solution.

Also changed my general language settings for Premiere Pro to French, but it does still transcribe to English.

Then my last solution was to transcribe via software (clipchamp) and download the .srt file and import it into Premiere Pro. But for some reason also this importation doesn't work (again, I followed every step from YouTube tutorials, but simply can't import the files).

I'd be very glad to hear a solution to transcribe my video to French within Premiere Pro, or within a software program that has many editing options.

I had the same problem and took me a few months to figure it out. Here is my assessment:

With some updates, Adobe erases the language packs; Therefore, you need to download them again.

Try the following:

Under the TEXT tab, go to the TRANSCRIPT tab. You will see the three-dots menu on the top right. Click on it and choose GENERATE STATIC TRANSCRIPT.

When the pop-up window opens, choose the language of your choice from the drop down menu.

Voilà.

In a new project, try using the Transcription options at the bottom right of the Import tab when you first create the project; set the language to French there.

Javadaba's solution worked for me! The language pack automatically downloaded and installed and the transcription was successful. The key is using "Generate Static Transcript". Every other method did not work.

Merci.
