Transferring Premire project to SSD while keeping copy of footage in original location

Hi there,

I am editing a big project off of my internall HDD and its really slowing me down. I want to transfer the whole project (the whole folder, including footage, assets and premire files) to an external ssd to edit off that.

However, I assume if i do this and open the project, it will still be referencing the footage on the HDD as that was the original file location of the footage. I don't want to delete that footage in order to re-link the files, as I want to keep the footage on the HDD as a backup, and its where the final project will be stored long term after ive finished with the vid.

Just copy/paste the folder, open project, relink to the new folder on ssd.
