Question

TRUE Full Screen Mode... which hides the taskbar!

I've just had a nice chat with one of the online help staff, and after explaining about Adobe Premiere Pro not having an actual full screen mode, I was pretty much told that it'll be incorporated into the next release, i.e., it's not currently a feature in the latest version at this time... version: 22.2.0 (Build 128).

For anyone interested, my question to them is copied below:

"I'm using Premiere Pro 2022 and Full Screen mode ("Ctrl" + "\") doesn't hide the taskbar (neither does it for version 2021). I'm aware of the Windows setting to auto-hide the taskbar, but I don't like that! True Full Screen modes do indeed hide the taskbar... therefore please let me know if Premiere Pro has a Full Screen mode/setting that will hide the taskbar? Incidentally, ("`") or ("Ctrl" + "`") that work for maximising panel sizes are Not! what I mean by Full Screen mode whereby the taskbar becomes hidden. Thank you kindly, Gary."

In response to my question, they quickly investigated and confirmed that there isn't currently an option/setting for hiding the taskbar as should be the case for a True Full Screen Mode feature, and then when I asked if it was due to technical difficulties, they confirmed that it wasn't... so fingers crossed since I rather dislike using Windows Auto Hide taskbar feature.

It's always interesting to see different people's reactions to things. I've used auto-hide of the taskbar since it was an option way, way back. I cannot imagine why you would want the taskbar NOT auto-hid with any app.

To each their own ...

Like you say it's just personal preference.

Some examples of programs that I already use that have a True Full Screen mode whilst working/editing as usual are: Visual Studio, Segger Embedded Studio, Corel Photo-Paint, GIMP, Blender...

@8112354.. you're now also using the OBS video/streaming software to record via a Razer Kiyo Pro, and both the camera and OBS are Awesome! And... OBS has a: True Fullscreen Mode/Interface!

Hi Gary,

Hope that feature happens for you soon. Can you check out the Beta to see if it is working as you might expect? Let us know, OK?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

In my optimism that you've already had a chance to do something... I've just created a new project in: Version 22.3.0 BETA (Build 64) that I just now downloaded. ("Ctrl" + "\") is still the same, i.e., the taskbar is still visible. If instead you've added a True Full Screen feature via a different keyboard shortcut combination, then please let me know which keys? Otherwise, I guess you mean some future Beta version, in which case please kindly post here and state how to test the new True Full Screen mode once it's available.

Cheers, Gary.
