Typing graphics in premiere 2022?

I want to have typing graphics on screen as a character types on their laptop. Every video I look up shows older versions of Premiere and uses Legacy titles. I recently upgraded to premiere 2022 and I know this is being phased out. Is there any basic graphics effect i can use to achieve this effect or another way to go about it? Or should I just keep trying w/ key frames and legacy titles?

...or if you have After Effects, it can be done there with a preset.

Typewriter effect is done the same way in the EGP as with the Legacy titler.

I would animate the crop effect.

Hi eawood_,

Are you trying to create a typewriter effect in Premiere Pro? If so, you may try the steps mentioned in this video & check if it helps.

Thanks,

Sumeet
