Unable to select or open files/bins

For SOME reason (Adobe quality standard Im assuming), im unable to open or select files by selecting their name:

YET, Im able to open and select the files in Project panel by selecting their proprieties (frame-rate, media start, media end, etc).

Not sure if this is a bug since this error exists since I can remember, but now that I need to use Premiere as in my main workflow, this is actually really annoying.

Yes, its possible to select the files, but only if you CAREFULLY select it by the text on each file name

But whats even more strange is that you are not required the same accuracy when when it comes to select those files proprieties, so even easier to select each file by their FPS than by the name it self.

And yes, you need to be VERY accurate:

Such prediction should not be re requirement for select files on a software where most people need to work quick.

I am not sure what your issue is as I, personally, have never felt there was difficulty in doing these tasks. I'm wondering if there is some kind of problem on your system. If  you feel this is a program design problem that needs correction, then I encourage you to file a feature request to get it to your liking:

You're not actually clicking on the name, you're clicking on an empty space, which opens up the Import dialog.

Well, you can actually select files in AE without selecting the files with great accuracy, you can select the files as long you select the horizontal space of each file.

This same applies to Photoshop, inDesign and Illustrator, where you are not required to be careful to select the name, what it makes me believe this is clearly an error.

it makes me believe this is clearly an error.

It's the way the program works for all of us.  You might call it bad design, but I do believe it is working as designed.

I watched a bit of that vid, with a whole lot of fast clicking, and couldn't tell exactly what you were doing. Other than clicking all sorts of (seemingly) odd places real fast. So I was more confused than helped by it.

"Open and select" ... not sure what you mean there. Open? No clue whatever, you see. Do you mean move a file onto a timeline or into the Source monitor?

You don't have anything going on that sequence that I could see, so ... did you say drag/drop a video file onto the timeline sequence area to get a new sequence started, or right-click a file in project panel and select new sequence from file, or drag/drop a file onto the New Item icon in the lower right of the project panel?

Well, there are "bins" (folders), which, Im asume, unless my english is really bad, you >open< those by double clicking them, and the contents are visible in other panel.

You >expand< the contents by clicking the triangle at the left of each bin.

The >select< one should be obvious, im trying to select each individual bin or file in the project.

As my video shows, its IMPOSSIBLE to select each file or bin by clicking on them, as double click and single click are ignored by Adobe Premiere, if I double click on the file or bin it immediately pop-up the import file menu.

The only thing I have found that works, its to select their proprieties, that way Adobe Premiere DOES highlight the file.

You're trying to select each bin or file ... and then do ... what?

You see, I've no clue there. To use items from a bin into a timeline, I'm normally dragging them onto the timeline area. To get them into the Source monitor (which I don't use much anymore) I just double click an asset in its bin and it pops up in the Source monitor. Now ... the clicking time can be tricky, and if the mouse moves a pixel it sees it as separate clicks.
