Unsupported compression type CFHD: MOV

I'm trying to open a . MOV file on the latest update Premiere Pro and it keeps giving me (m1 MacBook)

and it keeps giving me this error (Unsupported video compression type CFHD)

Please could you help me? this is causing me unnecessary delays.

Supported CODECs in QuickTime wrapper are listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/quicktime7-support-dropped.html

 

It looks like you have a legacy QuickTime CODEC that needs to be transcoded.

 

Does the clip play in Finder?  If so, you can trancode it by right-clicking and choosing "Encode selected video files".

 

 Specific to Apple Silicon, Go Pro Cinefirm is no longer supported.   

 

If not, try Shutter Encoder (donationware).

thank you so much for your help.

I used Shutter Encoder to turn it from Go Pro Cinefirm to QT animation and that fixed it for me.
