Unsupported compression type

Since a couple of days i'm having problems importing mov files filmed with my zoom 8. When trying to import those files I get the error message 'the file has an unsupported compression type'.

When opening recent Premiere projects, the mov files used in these projects can't be played.

I tried all kind of suggested solutions: emptying or moving the cashe folder, I uninstalled en reinstalled premiere, and today I even did a complete clean install of my mac, updated to catalina en reinstalled the CC desktop app en premiere. Unfortunately, the problem is still the same.

I have clients waiting for me to finish there project. All help is realy appriciated!

UPDATE: downgrading to version 14.0.1 solved the problem. Pff, this issue cost me a lot of time... No more automatic updates for me.

Had to hunt up what a "zoom 8" is ... their website says the video format/codec is MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (MOV) ... so I'm curious what about that camera's application is intriguing that it causes a problem? Camera makers are getting very aggressive in working with not just i-frames and p/b data-set frames, but even partial i-frames in their long-GOP media these days.

What does MediaInfo ... after you drop a file onto it, and go into the Tree view mode, show about that file? Would be interesting.

And could you post a short bit that's problematic so others of us can download and test it? I'm on PC ... is this a Mac issue or general issue?

Dude. This post... I wish I would have read it the other day. I litterally wasted 4-5 hours trying to solve this.

When I do consulting I charge $250/hour. Nothing like having the equivalent of $1,250 of my time wasted because Adobe can't bug test before a release. Plus I pay them! Yay!
