Update to latest while preserving version 23.0

As mentioned many times before; as soon as you or I update to v23.2 we lose access to all our projects created in v23.0 (build 63). To get the best of both worlds, how do I keep up to date with the latest installation for new projects, AND keep v23.0 installed?

If this is possible; would I be able to open both versions simultaneously for the purpose of copying material from 23.0 and pasting it into 23.2?

Are you talking about in the Start screen, the listing of projects?

As there's an option about that in the Preferences ... or there can be an issue if Premiere isn't able to update the user settings, due typically to permissions issues, as it normally wants to do.

I'm guilty of asking 2 questions in 1, and I'm a bit lost in what you're saying in your answer.

What I'm talking about is when I updated to 23.1 my past projects got about 75% through the opening stage, then the whole thing froze. Its refusal to open alien projects is well documented. What I'm asking is how do I tell my CC management software to install the updates but leave 23.0 untouched.

AFAIK there is no way to keep 23.0 and having 23.x installed at the same time.

For projects that wont open:

One thing i always do when i update is to create a brand new project in the new version and then File > Import to import the old project file into the new project. One thing to keep in mind is that the import can take time and it looks like Premiere Pro has freezed though it has not. Just import, do nothing and just wait calmly until it´s done.
