Using the Rubber Band

Trying to adjust audio in a 10 minute video with multiple clips shot over multiple days under a variety of conditions and with different devices.

The one stopping point seems to be a particular clip where the audio is up down and sideways for no good reason - conditions didn't change, all shot on the same device.

I have a peak that is way too loud and I cannot for the life of me get it to lower. So far, I have resorted to using the razor tool to cut it into smaller clips and adjust each manually so they match. The rubber band does not seem to be working at all.

I set a keyframe on each side of the too high peak, drag down the rubber band....nothing happens.

Am I missing a step?

I would put a Limiter in the chain.

Have you selected the show clip keyframes opposite track keyframes?

You need to set 4 keyframes either with the pentool or hold down ctrl while using the selection tool.

Thank you Ann! That helps tremendously - especially your second screen shot.

I'm assuming the rest will just take practice.

I've been doing 3 minute videos and just selecting all clips and normalizing max peaks to even out the audio. That worked on the shorter videos. This one just has so much variation, I'm needing to do more manually.

Appreciate any other tips you have - thanks for taking the time!
