video can't be placed in the media sequence

i'm having trouble with placing my videos in the media sequence in Adobe Premiere Pro. every time i tried to drop my video into the media sequence, it (the app) didn't allowed me to do so. i have no problem to place any audio files or pictures into the media sequence. I've tried changing the video to another format, reinstall the app re download/redo the video but still have the same result.
