Video Limiter for UK Broadcast - Sub Blacks

Hi all,

For UK TV broadcast, I have an Eyeheight plug-in (set to PAL EBU103) I use for chroma and luminance levels.

However, I'm having trouble with sub blacks.

"Video Levels Should Not Exceed 700mV, Or Fall Below 0mV"

Can anyone recommend a plug-in that I can put on an adjustment layer to legalise my blacks for UK TV broadcast.

Thanks.

Have you tried switching to "EBU103/PAL-extra safe"?

Long shot, but what happens is you nest your Timeline into a new Timeline and apply the Eyeheight plug-in on the nested Timeline?

The Eyeheight plug-in does not legalise the black levels. Just chroma and luminance.

I do that using IRE or NITS scale(s) on a per clip basis... as I put stuff into timeline I look at it and do a quick legal level thing.. just to get in the ballpark... Since each clip is different the adjustment is different for every clip. Sometimes I can do it and save the node adjustment as a 'grade' and apply it to subsequent clips shot on the same set with the same lighting etc... and be at least 'legal' ...  So thinking you can do it automatically for everything you did, at the end of your project (editing ) is sort of a pipe dream...  Of course some things will work but that's like taking music and making all the frequencies use a high or low bypass filter.. which is kinda like kid stuff.

Unfortunately you are not using a good program for doing what you want.. as this program is more geared to go pro and iphone users... and not pro editing.

I've been using Premiere since 2004 for pro editing. Ran 6 TV stations in the UK, and all programming and promos were rendered in Premiere.

I'm impressed, sir, and wish you the best of luck finding info on getting legal transmission standards fixed up. No doubt you just need to update your licensing and peruse the notes re: tech details... via https://www.ofcom.org.uk/manage-your-licence/tv-broadcast-licences

Does the Video Limiter under Color Correction that comes with Premiere not work for you?

Tried that, and it still failed the Adstream QC check.
