Videos stop playing when i try to skip to any part of the video (with mouse or keyboard)

Hi,

When I play any video in premiere and try to skip to any part of the video (either using the playhead or the keyboard), the video stops playing and I need to hit play again from whereever it left off.

It's completely unusable.

The soft ware is updated and I use Windows 10.

Can anyone help me fix it?

Thank you.

That's by design.

Thanks Warren!
That's a bummer. I just find it a little restrictive and counterintuitive for a such a Top-notch Editing software.

No sweat, I'll handle it.

I think it's what is being discussed here:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/is-there-any-way-to-keep-playing-while-moving-the-scrub-marker/m-p/8920669

According to that, in Premiere it's not possible for the playback to contune when skipping to a different part of the video.
But, There should be an option to enable that behaviour if set by the user. Especially for video reviewing purposes.
