Question

Vimeo Panel within Premiere

This is the response I received from Vimeo.

The Vimeo panel within Premiere is optional, and you can still continue to upload using the previous method. We recommend using the upload method that you feel most comfortable with.

The main difference between the two is that the panel is located within your project window to allow for quick and easy uploading. This product was created with collaboration in mind, to allow for editors to easily share their sequences for quick feedback within a few clicks. In addition, the panel was developed in house, so it's in our power to troubleshoot and fix any issues that arise. The "Share to Vimeo" function was built and maintained by Adobe (using our API), which makes it difficult to troubleshoot from our side of things.

Both options do allow for direct upload to Vimeo from editing software, so I agree that the differences are currently minimal. Although, we are planning to add some additional functionality to the panel in the near future. This includes incorporating full review page features in Premiere (such as timeline notes), video replacements, and the ability to upload multiple sequences with the click of a button.

These are pretty old posts but I just recently learned about this panel (always just used the built in upload inside Premiere). I thought I'd try it but my videos, once embedded in a webpage are giving my SORRY warnings. Was this caused by the Vimeo plugin? Neither I or my web designer can find why this is happening. Guess I'll just toss the Vimeo window and return to good 'ol Adobe uploading inside Premiere.

    Hi,

Thanks for the post. Have you contacted Vimeo support yet? Let the community know what they say.

This seems like a pretty old plugin. Doesn't seem to be supported very well
on the Vimeo side. No to answer your question. No time to start
troubleshooting issues with third party vendors when I have a process that
    works.

Is it possible to switch to a different team in using the Vimeo panel? I have a "free" account but I work from our Company account. On the vimeo website you use the dropdown to toggle between teams. Can the same thing be done in the panel? Otherwise it won't be useful at all in my case.

This statement concerned me.  The "Share to Vimeo" function was built and maintained by Adobe (using our API), which makes it difficult to troubleshoot from our side of things.

To be honest, I'm of the opinion that such functionality doesn't belong in an NLE at all.  My general recommendation is to avoid using it and always upload through your browser.
