Voice-Over button remove

I'm playing around with workspaces and the looks of Premiere Pro (CC 2017) and there's this one thing I cannot change to suit my needs. There's this "voice-over" button that I would like to remove from the timeline panel (it would make the timeline a little bit wider), but either there's no way to do that or there's some bug which prevents me to remove it. I tried going to Timeline Display Settings -> Customize Audio Header. From there I'm able to add new icons, but how to remove the existing ones ? I thought clicking on it and dragging it out of the timeline panel would do the job, but all the buttons act normally and make changes to the timeline.

Any ideas ?

After trying for years (succeeded once) I am still trying to remove that microphone icon from the timeline in Premiere 25.0 - if anyone could share even more tips on how and where to drag that annoying thing to remove it, it would really improve my health.

Drag the mic to the lowest space in the trackheader

    This is how mine looks.

From a UI/UX perspective this is far from intuitive, and I suspect a bug somewhere. In any case you won't get a visual indication of what button you remove / delete, until you click "OK". So right-click the track header > "customize" > drag and drop the button outside the button editor to remove it. Then click "OK".

This did not work for me. I am using Premiere Pro 2020. So annoying!

I finally got it to work but there is NO indication that when you drag the icon out of the box that it will disappear from the timeline.  Instead, it will turn red like you want to record something. You have to try multiple times and hit OK, and then hope it will disappear. I am trying to consolidate the timeline control area since it is taking up 1/3 of my timeline box. NO easy way to do this. Now, how can I get rid of the mastercip button?

Right click on the header and hit Customize.

Now drag the microphone out of the header.

A little buggy on my end, but after dragging every which way, it disappeared. Thanks.
