Question

Warp Stabilized clip shifts under an Adjustment Layer

Hi,

I've encountered a very strange behavior of the warp stabilizer plugin. Whenever I stabilize a clip setting "Framing" to "stabilize only" (cuz I want to frame it myself), and then add an adjustment layer with color effects (any effect for that matter), my clip shifts significantly towards right bottom corner of the preview window (persists in renders too). Nesting doesn't help. It only works when I put effects from the adjustment layer onto the video clip itself, and before(!) the Warp Stabilizer effect! It works for simple cases, but when i have multi layer edits, with lots of nesting, color correction and color grade layers putting it and then tweaking all over the place is not too convenient... I read people prerender their stabilized clips, but I mostly work with dslr footage, and cant afford to lose quality there...

Has anyone experienced similar problems? Please share your thoughts!

Thanks!

thats kinda kid stuff:)) id be doing stabilization in AE and even mocha for an appropriate source material, but the piont is to stay within the premiere toolset... which in my case doesn't work the way it should:((

You can try nesting the stabilised clip by right clicking & choose > Nest..

Have you tried resetting preferences.

If you use a intermediate codec such as Cineform you wont.

This is the dumbest solution one can think of ...and Im using it, thanks a lot Adobe!=((

Thanks for the advice with the codec, Ann!

It turns out its not about adjustment layers (I just use them to color grade footage). How come no one has encountered this issue?? Has anyone tried to add effects on top of warp stabilized footage with framing mode set to "stabilize only"?

"Has anyone tried to add effects on top of warp stabilized footage with framing mode set to "stabilize only"?"

I test this today both on MAC & Windows premiere pro cc 2018 (12.0.0 & 12.0.1), I stabilized the clip using warp stabilized vfx set to stabilize only and than create a new adjustment layer > applied lumetri color effect. Everything worked perfectly fine.
