Wav and Mp3 out of Sync

I have a whole project for a Music video clip which I edited using an mp3 of the final mix, when I import the same mix but on a wav file they are out of sync, the wav starts earlier...If I open the same two files in Reaper they are perfectly in sync but it seems Premiere Pro is making the wav start earlier than the mp3, both files are the exact same mix, the only difference is the audio format, any clues on how to fix this? The reason I imported the final mix as a wav is because I don't want to have a double lossy covertion from mp3 to aac as already from wav to mp3 is lossy, so I thought that if imported the wav I would only get one convertion from wav to aac...

If you have full Creative Cloud, you have Audition availible. Install if it's not.

Drop your mp3 onto the Audition Icon

In Audition, select File/Save As

Select WAV and Press OK

Done

As has been said by everyone. Always start with WAV from the beginning of your edit.

The only time I might drop in an mp3, is if I'm trying out various pieces of music. Once I decide I remove all MP3s and immediatly create and use a WAV.

Did you convert the mp3 to wav with Audition?

No, I inported the mp3 directly into the Premiere session

It is not a Premiere Pro issue. Reaper is processing them differently.

Take the mp3 and convert it to wav in Audition.  Replace the mp3 in Premiere Pro with that wav, and they will be the same length in Premiere Pro.

Next time, use the wav instead of the mp3 initially.

I don't use Audition but when I open both files in Reaper they are exactly on time, how can this be?

Does your footage have variable framerate? Known to give issues.

You can check this with MediaInfo.

The thing is that this is a music video clip with tons of small clips, It doesn't make sense to me both files open equal in Reaper but open out of sync in Premiere...
