WebM files

Is there a workaround to work with WebM files? I thought I found one by installing this from Adobe Cloud: https://exchange.adobe.com/apps/cc/11631/webm

It works and Premiere Pro can import and edit WebM, it's fantastic, but then when it's time to export, Media Encoder is like - what's this?

So right now I am trying Handbrake, but is there a simpler solution I am not aware of?

(In some cases WebM files are what we have to work it, it's just the reality, so this is me trying to find solutions)

Have you tried the most current version of Premiere Pro? It should work. If not, fnord should work. 

If you're encountering issues during export via Adobe Media Encoder (AME), the problem is likely related to the **audio codec** inside the WEBM container.

WEBM files typically use **Opus** or **Vorbis** for audio, which are not natively supported by AME unless you’ve installed the **Fnord WebM plugin**, which you've got.

Even with the plugin, export can fail if:

- The audio codec is unsupported or improperly configured.
- The plugin version is outdated (latest is v1.5.0 as of July 2024).
- You’re exporting via Dynamic Link from After Effects or Premiere, which sometimes causes plugin handshake issues.

Recommended Fixes:
1. **Update the Fnord WebM plugin** to the latest version: https://adobe.ly/4gUY0oO
2. **Export directly from AME** by manually loading the project, rather than queuing from Premiere or After Effects.
3. **Convert the audio** to a supported format like AAC or WAV using a tool like Shutter Encoder before export:

Thank you, perhaps it needed a full reboot but it's working now from AME as well
