What causes the Playhead Position to NOT be ZERO at Beginning of Sequence?

My Playhead is at the absolute beginning of the Sequence yet the Playhead Position reads one minute eight seconds (00;01;08;28). I can't find what is causing it to not be at 00;00;00;00.

Any guidance would be appreciated thank you.

Something like that. I've noted that a couple cameras I've worked with seem rather arbitrary is setting the 'start' time of a clip. And with importing clips with different start times than '00:00:00' if any of the options to set start time other than at zeros is selected, well ... you get the odd start time.

In Edit/Preferences/Media, what are your settings for Timecode and Frame-Count?

Also, if you right-click on the sequence name in the timeline, and select 'Start time', what pops up as the default?

Hi Neil,

Just checked Edit/Pref/Media.

Timecode = 'Use Media Soruce'

Frame Count = 'Start at 0'

When I right-click sequence name to check 'Start Time' like you suggested, I get "00;01;08;28"

However...

There is an option there to 'Set by first clip' which was not checked. I checked off the box which caused the Start Time to change to a different time, but then when I unchecked it the Start Time went to 0, so, I hit OK and now my Start Time for the Sequence is at 00;00;00;00.

I guess that rectified the issue I was experiencing. Is that what you were expecting?
