Question

What did I do to create this effect with a mask? I managed something but am not sure how

Hey all.  I'm getting into keying things out.  I have two files.  One of them I managed to green screen myself out and then move that image to the right of the background seamlessly to give myself more space.  In the second example, I couldn't figure out what i'd done to create the first effect.

The desire here is to key myself out with the green screen and then move my visage + the mask over to another position in the larger image.  I'm just not sure what I did.  Did I create a second mask?

In Question 1.jpg, you've added a mask to the Opacity effect.

When using a green screen, it’s a good practice to first mask out unnecessary parts of the image before applying the keying effect. This reduces the amount of unwanted background and makes the keying process more effective.

That was the answer.  Thank you.  Sometimes it's just easier when Someone Who Already Knows How To Do It joins the conversation.  The telepathy of it communicates a lot.  IT made the tutorial better to digest.  Thanks 🙂
