Whip transition not working

I'm trying to use the Whip transition (Effects>Video Transitions>Slide>Whip) and can't make it work.

It shows green flashes in the preview. I've tried in two different computers (mac and windows) and it does the same in both.

The renderer is set to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only as the mac doesn't have a compatible GPU and the Windows PC has an NVidia that's not compatible with Premiere.

Is this the cause of the error? Is there anywhere where I can see this effect correctly working?

I have the same problem. Don't know how to fix it but would like to use it in my project

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the at Studio Driver (NOT a Game Driver).

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?
