Why does marking an in-point on the source monitor automatically trim/adjust the clip in the timeline

Hi there,

I can't figure this out. I have two camera clips synched on the timeline. Now I want to mark an in point in the source monitor by referencing the clips original timecode - but every time I mark an in point it alters the clip on the timeline?

What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Thanks.

That behaviour is still the same. Opening from the timeline affects the clip in the timeline.

If you want to open from project window hover over clip in timeline and hit F.

Because the clip is opened from the timelline and not from the project window into the source monitor.

    Thanks for that Ann,

I know, basic, elementary question. But having just upgraded to the latest PPCC I'm finding some of my normal workaround has changed. Before I used to be able to lay two tracks of vid down and choose an in and out point on the source mon without affecting the clip in the timeline.

    Something weird is happneng
