Why does the add new caption button (+) disable sometimes?

I'm not sure what determines whether this button is available or not. Which thing in which window needs to be selected so the little + icon in the Captions tab is available to add new captions to the Subtitle track? It's sometimes greyed out even after clicking to highlight different things on the screen to try to make it available.

    Hi !

    The "plus" button will be disabled if there is not enough free space below the current playhead position to create a new caption segment. If you move the playhead or split an existing segment you should be able to create a new segment again.
