Windows 10 - Alt Key usage and menu bar
Hi guys,
for the past couple of years I've been using DaVinci Resolve and due to switching workplaces I'm forced to use more and more Premiere Pro at work. I'm pretty used to working fast with many shortcuts that are all placed around the left keyboard area. In Resolve I use shortcuts like A and D for in and out, Shift+A and Shift+D for Shuttle left and right and Alt+A, Alt+D for jumping between in and out. In Resolve this all works without any problems but on Premiere the Alt key is used by some different features. I can't figure out how to use the Alt key without triggering things the menu bar (Alt+E opens up the Menu bar and goes right into Edit) or some other feature that makes the Windows alert sound go off (Alt+Shift+A, Alt+Shift+D). I might have found a solution to the second one by just muting the Windows alert but this can't be the correct way. Is there any other way to make the Alt key only work with the Keyboard Shortcuts? I've found some threads around here that said that this behaviour is pretty basic for many Windows programs (not for Resolve) so instead completely turning that behaviour off is there maybe a way to change the menu bar shortcuts to something different? Like changing Alt+E which opens the menu bar and goes to "Edit" to something like Alt+I. This way it wouldn't bother me anymore and I could use the right keyboard side for all those menu bar shortcuts. Thanks for the help.
