zoom in/out shortcut

Dear all,

the naming of certain actions in premiere is a bit confusing...

I would like to zoom in and out on the timeline in my sourcewindow (from minutes to seconds to frames and back). But i can also zoom in and out on my footage in my source window.

What is the search term for zooming in/out on the timeline ('zoom' in/out is hijacked by zooming in/out of the footage (%))

If i know the name of the action i can make a shortcut for it.

Easy there cowboy... it's kinda' a strange feature of this website where it looks like an answer has been selected as correct, but those are just giving you an opportunity to mark it as correct. Only the original poster (you) sees those.

Did you play with those? You know you can 'save as' to save your current set (before you start working) then mangle the shortcuts completely (or get it right) and then revert back to where you were... play with them.

For zooming the timeline of the source monitor I got it to work correctly by simply removing the specific shortcuts in the source monitor (thus letting the global shortcuts work in that panel (ie: I played with it)

Sorry man, my NOT was not ment to be agressive

i’m going to copy your shortcuts tomorrow and find out how this works because i don’t really understand it from text. Its annoying that premiere uses one word for two different actions. Thnx a lot for your time and help once more.

No problem, just kidding around.. that correct answer thing has thrown off many before you!

I mean 'zoom' is a common term, seems likely too... take a look at 'nudge' for a bunch of things.

Premiere Pro file Shortcuts not compatible with Last Update (13.1.3)

I just loaded it up now, and there were no shortcuts for the items in the source panel. With the default keyboard it does exactly what you want. Zoom the source monitor timeline instead of the monitor scaling. That may help. So, just making sure the source panel items are not there should do it for you.

It's simple to understand also. If you're in a panel and it has assigned shortcuts those override any app wide shortcuts. If non are assigned, then the app default keystroke is used.

Sorry but this is NOT the right answer... I want to zoom in on the timeline from my sourcewindow, not zoom in on the footage itself...

Plain ol' 'zoom'

But if you are in the 'Source' monitor at the time, it will override the "Application" setting, (so you will then be zooming the source monitor) so you might need to change these and/or add some shortcuts to the global (above) items (the F3, F4 and F13 are my added items)
