Automatic removal of silence

There is evidently no feature to remove silence from a video which I find astonishing. Even Olive, an open souce editor, has this facility and it is shocking to find it missing in Premiere Pro. OK I know you can do it by switching to Audition but you can't save as video - I have watched many YouTubers talk about this process and it is time consuming and very tricky in my opinion. I just want an option in the sequence context menu entitled 'Remove silence'. Come on Adobe, it can't be difficult as lesser organisations are already doing it. We want AUTOMATIC SILENCE REMOVAL and we want it soon!!

Many thanks for your response. My version is 24.0.3 (Build 2) with 24.2 in beta. I am aware of the ability to edit the transcribed text and hence remove silence but what I am looking for is a tool like the plugin Autocut that identifies the silences, creates the necessary cuts and gives me the ability to set options for the length of the silence, margins and the silence threshold. I don't see why I should pay $9.9 basic per month for Autocut what it should be built-in to an expensive tool like Premiere Pro.

Silence removal was introduced in version 24 and improved upon in 24.1 as well as the public beta. What version of Premiere are you using?
