It seems the "Bug" converstion type is a new format / forum for an old problem: how users and Adobe and report, solve, and keep track of bugs and known issues.
To that end, it's probably important for Adobe to keep up their end of that relationship - if they're asking users to take the time to inform them of problems they're having, they should take the time to inform users of what they are investigating and solutions that are coming.
"Known Bugs" or "Known Issues" should be listed or easily linked in the "Bugs" forum - so that users can check if the issue they are experiencing has been reported, acknowledged, and if a workaround or a solution is available or forthcoming.
Simply sharing this information in a direct, full format would assist users and probably save the forum from a lot of "froth".
Adobe maintains a "Known Issues" page here and fixed issues here. While one could marvel that Premiere Pro currently only has 15 known issues, it is more likely that this list is incomplete. (Dear reader, it is.)
It's not easy to cross reference these two lists. Further, these notices lack a consistent format and the information which users require, particularly when assessing whether or not to upgrade/update Premiere Pro versions. Specifically:
- when was the issue acknowledged?
- what versions of Premiere Pro and what OS/hardware does the issue apply to / experienced on ?
- when was the issue addressed / fixed?
- what versions contain the fix?
- is there a recommended workaround if there is no fix?
- is there a fix coming ?
A full list of all known issues with the above information, directly linked and searchable from the "Bug" forum would help users (and Adobe).
