CAMERA SHAKE!!!! Why not Premiere? FCP has it!

So the one thing that has been bothering me to no end is the fact that Premiere has not included a camera shake preset into their library when the product ships. There isnt even a preset you can buy(that i found) for premiere pro. I dont want to use AE for one simple effect that should be included in the release.

Fcp has it in its effects tabs and its great, why not Premiere?

If anyone has knowledge of a good preset for camera shake, please let me know.

I do not wish to mickey mouse it in AE and or even in Premiere .. as i've tested them all before and nothing appeals to me.

omg, I've been wondering the same thing! I'm just now switching to pp after using fcp for years because of the transition to consumer product... but anyways I edit a lot of music videos and that "Earthquake" effect is a must have! I dont want to do it manually for each single clip, that's insane. Also when u do it manually it doesnt look as good because u have to zoom the video to not have black space. On FCP 7 the earthquake effect doesnt mess with the dimensions of the video, rather it shakes it n creates a cool blur...You see it in a lot of rap videos, when the bass hits... I wish adobe would add this effect!!!

I have little sympathy for the OP's "laziness", but do feel there is an underlying problem here more significant than the lack of a built-in effect in PPro. If it were easier to go back and forth between PPro and AE, perhaps there would be no issue here.

For me, Dynamic Link has been problematic - unstable and disorienting. I'd rather Adobe spent development resources to make Dynamic Link a no-brainer rather than adding effects or presets.

If i wanted your sympathy i'd ask for it. I chose to use the word "lazy" because i wanted to see where this thread would end up and how ppl would react, and i was right, just as i thought. hahahaha.. too predictable..thank you

we all use the software differently a NO-BRAINER, and its foolish of you to say that your problem is more important ... thats rather silly.....

anyway... i've sent in my request... and so should you if you'd like to have that as a preset

We have that in AEFX so why would we bother with it in PPRO.

Just like my feature requests for Invertable or featherable garbage mattes. Which I have a regular and particular need for. (Like at this very moment)

How about my Feature request for Opacity Key Frames that work as consistently as other KF workflows - ie not automated.

Locating a 3rd party solution will be quicker for you.

I love special effects and I always thought I should get around to learning AE. I do corporate video, so most of my work is pretty standard stuff. But every so often a client says, "Make the video look like that thing on TV. By tomorrow." So a lazy solution might also be an efficient solution.

Lazy solutions (presets) can be fine

....especially when you tell the client just after he says he really loves it ..."that took a lot of time and sorry..I will have to charge you a lot for it"

DigiEffects has a plug-in, Damage, that works in PPro that might be what you are looking for.

Also their Aged Film plug-in has a jitter setting that might also help you. Both have a free trial download.

I thought the thread was pretty clear, i'm not looking to FIX a camera shake, i'm looking to make a Camera shake effect.

I would like it to be a preset in Premiere and not have to go into AE and fiddle around with it.

It is a preset in FCP. Small effect like that should be included in premiere, that is what i i'd like to see.

remember to file this in as a request for an update/future version.

Adobe should include filters in it's software updates like what final cut did for the Defocus filter. I mean, one moment I was wishing i didn't have to go to motion for the filter, system did it's usual automatic update and I was using the filter for weeks after before I realized that it wasn't originally there...lol I only realized after I had to reinstall the suite.
