I upvoted when you posted, and was looking for an earlier request. I did not find it. The big discussion in the past was getting better access to styles when they could only be added easily in the current project. Introduction of the style browser fixed all that.
My comment in a discussion about deleting styles was:
"PR 24.3 introduced the style browser. This makes using styles across projects much easier.
You save your styles to the project, locally, or both. I see no way in PR to delete a locally saved style. You must navigate to that location outside PR and delete it manually."
I still think the intention was to eventually add styles to the library system, and that would handle deletions. If not, the workaround for "project" styles is to delete in the Project Panel. For "local" styles, navigate to the folder location and delete there. That location is shown in the guide, "Working with the style browser":
