Editing duration of nested clips in master sequence

Community Beginner ,

I have edited a movie, and created each scene as a sequence. Approx 50 sequences in total. Then I have made a "master" sequence, and put all the sequences in it. In the master sequence they appear with green color code (nested clip). If I double click on a nested clip it opens up the original sequence. If I do changes to the content, but not the duration, everything works/updates fine. I can edit the individual sequences, and the master sequence gets updated.

However, if I make the duration to be longer, I don't see the change in the master sequences. I then have to move the next clips in the master sequences, expand the clip I know I have made longer, and then move the following clips back again. Is this the normal functionality?

If I make the duration shorter (see screenshot), then I will see a light green color coded warning at the end of the nested clip in the master sequence. When making it longer, I can see no warning. This makes it difficult to do editing without making a brand new master sequence when I'm 100% sure I'm finished editing all the nested sequences.

Ideally, I would like the total duration of the master sequence to expand/contract automatically when editing the duration of the nested clips. If not possible, at least a warning should be showed. Maybe I'm just missing out on something.

When making clips longer in a nested sequence go straight into the master sequence and ripple trim out.

That is normal for nested clips.

Thanks! Can't understand the logic behind the decision of making a warning for shorter duration, but not for longer duration. Fingers crossed for getting this functionality in future releases. Master sequence with nested clips sounded like a great option until this problem appeared.

It's a standard warning also knows as danger stripes, it means there is no media.
