Many other programs allow you to select multiple clips at once, and whatever properties they have incommon can be changed simultaneously. If they are the same value, they show that value, if they are different "multiple values" is indicated.
Premiere pro just greys out the effect controls when multiple clips are selected.
At the moment you can copy/paste attributes but this isn't as granular or immediate as, for instance being able to shift the vertical position, or the vertical anchor of a series of clips that are side-by-side. This should be able to be done with one slider, but at present a simple operation like this is requires each clip to be manually adjusted.
