Export captions as .vtt (WebVTT) files

I'd like the option to export closed captions as .vtt files. Some of my clients only accept this format, and doing it manually or with different software is either very time consuming or costly.

SubTitle Edit is open source and works really well for SRT to VTT, plus has a ton of other useful features.

Hi everybody still wayting for adobe to provide a solution.
Since there seems to be no effort to support vtt export,
I created a solution via python script.
If anybody is intereseted in this, i would share this script as "name your own price".

Note:
You need to have phython installed, to run this script.
Use:
After Exporting subtitles from premiere as srt sidecar file.
Run the script.
It will ask you to choose a file,

then creates a web vtt file from it, storing it at the same location next to the srt file.

Any new status on this? It's really a widely used format and needed in Premiere Pro.

At this point I think we can confidently say Adobe will NEVER give a .vtt export option for captions even though it wouldn’t be that difficult. You would do better to find an AI to convert a captions file to .vtt.

아니, vtt가 아직도 업데이트가 안 될 거면 왜 희망고문하는 거죠?
전세계가 이것만 기다리고 있는데 왜 어려운 길로 돌아가는 지 정말 모르겠네요

Still no VTT support 2 years on from this question. Let the Ai slop take a back seat for a moment and work on things that we actually NEED please.

@motionben since users have been requesting WebVTT captions as an option since at least 2018 don't hold your breath about Adobe implementing it. Writing the code to do this wouldn't be that hard. As a software developer I'd love to fix this for Adobe but really they don't seem to care about it in the slightest.

Just had a national car retailer request VTT subtitles for a video being displayed across the USA in their dealerships. Time to boot up DaVinci Resolve so I can make things happen for my client. Let's hear it for yet another widely requested feature that goes undelivered! GREAT JOB!

Hi Adobe Premiere Team! We're waiting for an update so we can better serve our clients! Thanks!

No update for two years ? Please tell us at what stage the development process is.
For info, Blackmagic Davinci Resolve could do this very easely, so we start to think of migrating to this editing and finalizing solution.
