Feature request: auto sync existing caption/subtitle file to video
I would love if Premiere could auto-sync existing caption or subtitle files to a video, by scanning the audio.
I have many videos that where the act breaks were formatted differently than how the original caption files are. Also I noticed that some of the timings of the beginning of each act are wonky in the original caption files (maybe due to some old TV CC issue coming from a break?)
In my case, the auto generated transcript/caption files in Premiere is not helpful because there are so many words mispelled, due to a lot of uncommon words/spellings in the show I work on. So it would be great if I could take the original caption files with the correct spellings and have it resync to the videos.
I have been just manually resyncing the captions in Premiere and it probably only takes me about 10-15 minutes per episode. But I'm working on 20 years of content, so that's probably over 1,000 episodes. So it would be great if there was an automated way. Thanks!
