Current Limitation:
When using File > Export > Markers in Adobe Premiere Pro, the exported CSV and text files include marker names, timecodes, comments, and durations, but completely omit marker color information. This means that any color-coding workflow using different marker colors (red, blue, green, etc.) is lost during export.
Requested Feature:
Add marker color information to the CSV and text export formats when exporting markers from Premiere Pro. This could be implemented as:
For CSV exports: An additional "Color" column containing either the color name (e.g., "Red", "Blue", "Green") or hex color values
For text exports: Include color information in a standardized format alongside existing marker data
Use Cases and Benefits:
Post-production workflows: Many editors use color-coded markers to categorize different types of notes (e.g., red for technical issues, blue for creative notes, green for approved segments)
Collaboration: When sharing marker data with other team members or departments, color coding provides immediate visual context
Project management: Color-coded markers help track different review stages, client feedback categories, or production phases
Cross-application workflows: Preserving color data when moving between Adobe applications or external tools
Current Workaround:
The suggested workaround of adding color abbreviations to marker comments (e.g., "gr" for green, "re" for red) is functional but inefficient when dealing with hundreds of markers.
Impact:
This enhancement would significantly improve workflow efficiency for editors who rely on color-coded marker systems and need to export marker data for reporting, collaboration, or integration with other applications.
Technical Consideration:
The color information already exists in the project file, so this would primarily be a matter of including existing data in the export process rather than adding new functionality.
This feature would align with professional post-production workflows where color-coded organization is essential for managing complex projects efficiently.
