Feature to scrub while hovering over video
(Apologies if my terminoligy isn't 100% correct, I'm a self taught editor)
I don't want to come off like I just can't adapt to the new feature, but, it would be nice to be able to have the option to revert back to the version 24.3 way of scrolling/scrubbing through video on the source/program screen. Or at the very least, lock the zoom level. As it is now, when you're hovering over the video, the scroll wheel zooms the image in or out instead of scrolling through the video. I understand how this is benificial for other users but personally I have never needed this, and have seen a number of others upset about it as well.
I'm making this post after reading and finding out that there doesn't seem to be a solution for my "problem" other than to "hover over ONLY the timeline". My laptop screen is small and aiming my cursor that precise (at the speed of my usual editing effeciency) without landing on the grey bar to zoom the timeline itself, or flicking my mouse too hard and accidentally zooming in or out on the video is tough.
I've edited the "old way" for the past 4 years and after taking a bit of a social media break and coming back I'm finding it really hard to adapt to. I use a free wheel/unlockable scrolling mouse and also have shaky hands as it is...so whenever I try to scrub I keep accidentally zooming the video while flicking the scroll wheel. My editing efficiency has dropped significantly while trying to adapt - as It felt simpler to be able to hover on the video, scroll as fast as I need to mark my in and out and then just click and drag my clip down - having to add the presicion of landing my cursor in a literal 1/2" thick by 8" long area of my laptop screen is asking a lot out of me.
I get the simple answer is to just "get better" as I have a bit of a fast and agressize editing style, and I'm sure my techniques are clunky compared to how a real professional would edit, but I'm finding this really hard.
As it is right now I'm just running on v24.3 but I dont want to have issues later if I'm not on the newest version.
Thanks.
