Horizontal mouse scroll in Effect Controls Panel

There is the option to use the very annoying little bar at the bottom of the Effects Control Panel to zoom in and out and to also scrub and move left and right.

You can use the +\- to zoom in and out, and the left and right arrow to move frame by frame, however there is no option to scroll/scrub left and right with your mouse.

With the amount of time using a mouse in the timeline to scrub and zoom, could this not be applied to the Effect Controls Panel?

My suggestion would be to have the same mouse and keyboard combinations to move, zoom, scrub etc. thats available in the timeline, to also transfer and be usable in the panels.

(e.g. alt+scroll wheel to zoom, scroll wheel to scrub etc.)

If this already is an option and my settings are not optimised please let me know, however, if it's not available, this would be a much appreciated change.

Ann, you seem to be actively dodging Jaylani's point, gaslighting, changing the subject, or feigning ignorance. It's weird.

Hey, Adobe! Why didn't you mirror in Effect Controls the navigation method you used in the Timeline?

My intuition is that when we:

  • Mouse over the List of effect controls on the left, it scrolls up-down both the List and the Keyframe timeline.
  • Mouse over the Keyframe timeline, it scrolls only the Keyframe timeline left-right with Alt-Scroll to zoom, exactly like the Timeline panel.

At the absolute minimum the tilt-wheel ought to work. There are many ways to flay this cat, and none of the easy and obvious ones have made it into production.

It strikes me as an egregious oversight, or that Adobe has a good reason that's only obvious once you're an expert user. I'm new, so it could very well be the latter case. Well worth asking about.

I hear this! I use this action so often in the main sequence timeline (ALT + scroll to zoom in/out etc)

We use keyframes so much for editing it's crazy not to be able to do the same thing in the effects control panel timeline for fine-tuning & quick changes.

Always appreciate learning new things, so thank you.
Still redundant as the point is to not to have to have the mouse go to such a tiny slider, and to have the option to do it anywhere over the area of effects/keyframes. Like it is used when hovering over your timeline. You don't need to hover over the slider to go left and right nor to zoom in and out, as long as your mouse is over the allocated area in the timeline panel.

(For those unaware, in the Effect Control Panel, normal scroll over the bar slider will zoom in and out, alt+scroll will scroll left and right. In my opinion still useless).

Point your mouse on the bar and scroll.

Addition / clarification to previous comment:
To zoom in and out, and scroll left and right using the mouse scroll wheel. Similar to like we use zooming in and out and scrubbing left and right in the timeline.

Not sure how this relates to zooming and/or scrolling left and right with a mouse within the Effects Control panel.
If you find a solution directly related to this please let me know.

Panel menu: uncheck Pin to Clip.

You can see all your keyframes.
