I wish Premiere could encode including codec conversion by using preview files.

Sequences that contain heavy effects need to be rendered many times during editing.
Even though the preview files are already exist after rendering,
Premiere can't use those preview files when encoding.
It is too inefficient to start over from rendering when encoding.

For example, there is a sequence that takes 40minutes to export,
35minutes are for render, 5minutes are for encode.
Even if I had already rendered the sequence, it takes 40 minutes again to export.

To reduce total encoding time, we need to the steps below.

1. Export the movie with the same codec as the sequence. (no codec convert)

2. Place the exported movie in the sequence.

3. Encode. (with codec convert)

If Premiere can use preview files when encoding, we just do step 3 after rendering.

That sounds a lot like smart rendering which is an option in the export tab. These codecs allow for smart rendering: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/smart-rendering.html
Also, if you have certain sections of your timeline that have heavy effects that need constant rendering, it might be worth exploring using render and replace function.

Hi.

What I say isn't about smart rendering.
Smart rendering needs same codec between export and sequence.

I want Premiere can encode (ex. ProRes422 to H.264) using the rendered preview data.

Same as playback, I suppose Premiere can encode refering the preview data.

I tested "render and replace", but It didn't work as I hope.
It rendered each clip individually, and the result of the sequence changed.
Especially, it is useless for chromakey.
And it's a bit of hard to reset it every time to modify, too.

Strange, I've used Render and Replace with chromakey without troubles. What happened?

For example, I filmed a person on a green background and apply chroma key to this clip.
When I move this clip to lower, then the clip doesn't exist at upper potision.
Then the correct background appears around the person, but upper of screen is black.
