We are gauging interest to see if our users' aesthetic needs are being met!
Is the current color scheme of the interface sleek and professional or do you wish it was lighter? Is it easy on your eyes during tedious edit sessions? Most importantly, do you wish it came in pink?

Here's a link for more details on current interface customizability: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html#brighten_or_darken_the_interface

Really, really struggling with my editing these days because of how dark the Premiere UI is. Throughout COVID, I have been forced to work in my CONSERVATORY, which is effectively a sun room. with windows on 3 of the 4 sides - plus a transparent roof.

It has been extremely tiring on my eyes and most of the time I just fully give up and push my editing back to do at night, when I can actually see what I'm doing in the Premiere UI.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the black and grey theme when I can work from my editing den / studio, but **** has it been an awful experience working in the daylight. Maybe if I had a ProDisplay XDR that was insanely bright, it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but with a regular iMac it's been horrible. Can't see my timeline, can't see my scopes, black on black on black just does NOT work in the daylight.

Adobe, PLEASE give us a light mode!!!

Please bring back option from really light to really dark UI slider.
If Photoshop and illustrator can have it why not premiere and after effects?
We do not always work in a bat cave. Many times we have to work in really bright environment. The current slider range is just too subtle.

Just tell me if this slider has any reasonable though in it. In the brightest position, instead automatically making selected text dark to have some bearable contrast, the text remains the same, making selected items totally illegible. Please make the UI brightness behave like Ps, or Ai.

This is AWFUL. For visually impaired people, or those working in a bright environment there are areas of the screen (especially in Adobe Media Encoder 2021 that are nearly unreadable.

GIVE US A BRIGHTER INTERFACE OPTION! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

Just look at how dark the dropdown arrows are in front of H.264 and YouTube and how dark the Stop and Play buttons are? WHY?

WHY am I PAYING for something I cant SEE ? I'm going to sue you because I can't use your product. I bet you have a handicap parking space up front in the parking lot at your work, but here you oppress us individuals who have vision problems, who PAY to use your software!
What kind of discrimination is this?
You obviously know about this as people have been complaining for over 12 months, yet you don't care about handicapped people.
Seriously, If this isn't fixed immediately, Your going to have a nice big lawsuit filed against you.

Make a LIGHT color like VEGAS Magix. I cannot stress how difficult it is to work in a dark layout especially when you have astigmatism. The lighter slider you have in brightness settings is terrible and makes everything look washed out. We need true white or a light grey. Or even better to change the COLOR of your choice under a color palette.

The ability to change the UI's colour scheme, in a similar way to how you can with Photoshop CC, is a necessity. The current scheme's lack of contrast makes it difficult to read text and make out icons.

Increasing the interface's brightness is not a solution to the lack of contrast between light and dark colours in the interface's scheme.

This is also an issue for accessibility, as Premiere Pro's UI falls well below visual accessibility standards.

As a new user, this dark interface is horrible!!! How can this pass ADA standards???. I understand many video editors may like the darker feel, but it is not for everyone. Please provide options for those of all sight abilities.

Just add a simple color choice like photoshop, ilustrator, and indesign.
The premiere pro color appearance slider is so poor and does nothing.
Delete it and change it like Photoshop, ilustrator, and indesign color appearance choice.
---
If you don't know how it looks like, just call photoshop developer and ask him what it looks like.

The lack of theme options is a little bit upsetting, especially from a company and product as prestigious as Adobe Premier Pro. This is 2021, you do not have to make any themes, just give the option for users to customize it themselves and it will sort itself out.

I cast my vote for solarized (light) theme as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solarized

Gray text on the dark UI background does not provide enough contrast for easy reading. Sliders under Preferences --> Appearance do not help at all with providing more contrast. Please provide an option to increase/decrease the brightness/color of the UI text.

Hurts my eyes. If I have a film clip with a black background I find it difficult to distinguish between the end of the clip and the start of the workspace. Metrics hard to see

I found the solution! But not without a rant: all graphic people know that white on the black is the worst readability on print and on web and HURTS THE EYES. This is why websites do not use "dark mode" black background for readability,. Video editing is very straining on the eyes and to think having a cool "dark mode" option is trendy is unthinkable for tasks where long hours of staring at detailed information and every tiny detial is critical for editing. Premiere, please get your act together: apparently your developers are not video editors and do not understand this basic UI. Please consider adding quick theme choices for your users (How about Dark/Light mode On/OFF button)? Please don't put your users through a hack.

Here is the solution on Youtube. It takes a few clicks to switch to Light mode and is not too difficult:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPKfTKq4J2Y

Note: when you follow the instructions above you get "white screen" in the console. Do this to the menu options: change the console menu from 'Console View' to 'Debug Database View' by clicking the sandwitch menu next to the console tab.

As a person with dyslexia I find Premiere Pro with the grey on black totally unusable. Light mode would mean I can actually use the software I have licenses to use.
Seeking help on this issue has only directed me towards your 'inclusivity policy' which is infuriating.
Day-to-day I'm rarely affected by my dyslexia but the current colour scheme has me completely incapacitated.

(Incredibly) I just upgraded from CS5 to CC... And the Dark UIs are horrible! The brightness slider just makes it worse - mid grey is not a usable colour scheme. Please let us have the light interface back that CS5 had. Please. Please. Please.

Premiere Pro need a complete UI overhaul in my opinion.

It looks and feel old and since i moved to premiere pro i'm bored after 20 min of editing. And i edit a lot every single day.

I think it's that it feels clunky: like moving giant bricks and less snappier than counterparts like Final Cut or DaVinci.

But i will stick with PPro, because it is so costumizable!

With options to fast workflow with the moving panels, that for me is still the fastest option. Still, is boring as heck editing inside PPro.

A good direction for change is the ability to modify the style of icons and background colors. Like for example if one modder wants to make PPro look and feel like a windows XP app. Why not? Just release the code to change some aspect of the application to whom want's to feel alive again while editing.

"Dark mode" in general is a total stupidity on computers, I despise it. It kills my eyes.

Why have humans hacked their way through nature to make paper as white as possible and ink as dark as possible? Because it's the natural polarity of things presented on 2D surfaces since the cave men: dark subjects on bright substrates. Why go against it? It's total nonsense.

Now add to this that Premiere doesn't even offer the possibility to get this natural, positve color scheme -- which is quite hard to explain.

I also wonder about how Caroline's question is phrased. She seems to set "sleek and professional" against "lighter", which are considerations on completely different levels, as far as I'm concerned.

An UI can be sleek and professional, but stupidly dark, which makes it a pain to use. Or it can be horribly badly designed, clumsy, unresponsive, whatever, and agreeably light.

I guess the ideal configuration is a sleek and professional GUI together with a light color scheme... and I only complain about the color scheme in Premiere's case. So there's that. 🙂

I just wish you could extend the light-dark slider range to go all the way up to near white and near black, as well as change the color/hue of the blue accent

No, they are not.

Colour scheme is not the place I would start that discussion.

It would be far more helpful if you could expand on that a bit. They're asking for our ... and your ... opinions.

So give them your thoughts. Please!

The light mode video was useful! I hate the dark interface. Setting the SupportLightUI.PPro is a great trick.
