I already saw a lot of people requesting this in the past. I think there is a reason for that.
Nowadays there is a lot of Editing Software (whether it's for Audio or Video) that have this feature built in already (DaVinci Resolve, Shotcut, Ableton Live 12, Audacity, Studio One, FL Studio etc.). There has to be a reason for that - people are enjoying that kind of workflow as it is ergonomic and logical. You grab a position in your Timeline and move it in a certain direction, just as you would move/orient something in real life.
The only reason I can think of for not implementing this is patent or copyright issues with DaVinci Resolve on the part of Adobe. But if that's not the case and nothing to worry about, then why not go for it and help tons of people out by simplifying their workflow and making their software operation easier?
